A guy is sitting in a bar and looks over at the guy sitting next to him, who is pouring beer over his hand. “What are you doing?” the first guy asks. “I’m getting my date drunk.”
First “Big Name” concert was James Taylor at MSU in 1970, of course that discounts have seen a bunch of “small names” like SRC, Frost, Julia, Bob Segar, Mitch Ryder. When I saw Segar and Ryder there were three other acts on the bill and it cost a whole 25 cents to get in. Segar played one of my Friend’s Senior Prom around that time as well.
George Jones performed in my city. He was so drunk he could not sing. John Conlee finished the concert. The next year, the same issue. George Jones was never booked again.

Reminds me of an old joke I heard many years ago.

Alice Cooper, Edmonton, Alta. Unfortunately, Alice had injured himself in the previous concert and was only able to make it through two songs.
