I rejoice that I don’t repent. I can’t change the past so I have no regrets. Having said that there have been some situations that I would approach differently if faced with them again. Maybe I should rejoice that I can’t even remember yesterday.
“What if you lived as if the day after tomorrow was your last day?” – Marcie Carlin. “You’re weird, Marcie.” – Patricia Reichardt, replying to that question.
Remember the old commercial: “Winston tastes good, like a cigarette should.”? The word “as” would equate the product with the taste, while “like” is less than equal.
As regards this cartoon: Repent AND Rejoice! God loves you.
Whatever you decide, one day will be your last and as I found out recently it might be your “wife’s” last day and you will not be prepared for that either. Life sure can suck until that last day and “maybe” even after. Maybe I will find out soon maybe not.
A vessel’s utility is based on its capacity for change. An empty glass is useless to take anything out of, a full glass is useless to put anything into. The half-filled glass is most versatile, as it can either be added to or taken from.
As usual, the engineering solution to the half-glass problem: most of the words in the two signs are redundant. He would have both of them stand under a sign with the common words and have one hold a smaller sign with “Rejoice!” and the other “Repent!”. :)

i’d say Repent follows Rejoice – so Rejoice today Repent tomorrow. Sort of theological sub-prime RnR!

If you repent you may rejoice in heaven.
If you don’t repent there may be no heaven for you to rejoice in.
