Except for when it’s Louie, I believe that the gas that comes out of swamps is methane.

She has got that wrong. Hydrogen sulphide is the gas. This can be later converted to sulphuric acid (not a gas) by biological action, but that not what is happening here.

Except that hydrogen sulfide (swamp gas) is a gas and sulfuric acid (battery acid) is a liquid. Most likely the H Sulfide gas would stop escaping as bubbles once it was turned into a liquid.

Sorry mom. It’s called “passing gas”, or also known as “puppy farts”.

    Good morning Crew!

Louie just spent the day with Rat and Pig from Pearls Before Swine eating cheese in the sun…and now is enjoying a refreshing mud bath…

As long as Louie is not creating a condition like at Lake Nyos they should be okay.

Louie is underwater for a reason. To filter his emissions.

    Good evening, Crew!

Such a scientific explanation for an … um … UN-scientific occurrence. Works for me!

    Good Evening, Crew.

There’s a world of difference between hydrogen sulfide (aka hydrosulfuric acid) and hydrogen sulfate (aka sulfuric acid). That woman clearly has no idea what the difference is.
