Also competing was a well-known hotshot male fiddler who considered himself far above the rest of the field. My friend took first place in the contest, besting the hotshot.
After the results were announced, the hotshot turned to my friend and angrily told her that there should have been a separate category for female contestants. My friend smiled sweetly and replied “Why? Do you think you could have won that category?”
Because Gorrell is a conservative cartoonist, most will read this cartoon as him being against trans athletes competing in the Olympics, but visually it only illustrates “there are going to be trans athletes in the Tokyo Olympics”
Why the blue ring? The colors of the rings represent the 5 continents. Blue represents Europe, so this cartoon is saying the European athletes are trans.
