Nicely defused. Personally, I answer to almost anything… my name has too many options.

Dean and Brent… two names that don’t allow for nicknames.

Uh, yeah, so he didn’t think you were talking to someone else, great. But you still got it wrong.

I hate it when people get my name wrong. But we once knew a lovely sweet couple. We were friends with them for years before we finally realized we’d been mispronouncing their surname all this time. They didn’t want us to feel bad so they never mentioned it!

Phew! Crisis averted. C’mon everybody; let’s go home…

Oh yeah, the missing children.

My name is Roberta but I also answer to Rebecca because for some reason that’s what people tend to hear.

I think ONCE someone called me Rebecca rather than Roberta. I gently corrected them and it didn’t happen again.

How do people get Stella out of Stefania?

My late Aunt’s name is Stefania, but “English” people called her Stella. No matter how many times she corrected them, they still persisted. She hated it. Not until Stephanie Powers became a famous name, did our dear Auntie have the courage to demand that they call her by Stefania, and she would add "You know, like Stephanie Powers, she’s in “Hart to Hart” tv show" …and they would apologize, and from then on, never forget her real name.

My name is spelled Brzdjaviooyd, but the b, r, z, j, double o, and y are silent.

Brent, Brett .. next time they meet, Heart will probably still say, “Who?!”

I still don’t see how Brent could get lost in Brentwood.
