How can they fall asleep undressed a hot tub?

Arlo & Janis stew. Enough for the whole beach crowd.

Laying aside the “giving a show” aspect, in the 3rd panel Janis has the same pose she had on the porch when she talked about Arlo not letting her out of the tub. Now it looks like she gonna need him to help her out.

Getting pretty racy. I always thought of them as sort of an Ozzie and Harriet type couple…you know, separate beds. I wonder if O&H had a hot tub. If so, they probably used it at different times.

Are there no mosquitos?

They need more stimulation to stay awake. Turn up the bubbles!

What Janis isn’t aware of is that I was peeking through the hedge.

What would happen if they fell asleep and the kids found them in the morning?Or maybe all those that gave Janis good tips?

I like the fact the color is washing out of their bodies.

I remember watching Tarzan & His Mate, (the underwater Scene). I always wondered how it got past the Hays Code. For a young pre-teen boy in the late 1950’s – early 60’s …… YOWIE Wowie. Jane’s outfit and the underwater scene, sure beat the Cowboy Flicks, and adventures of Lassie.

Separate beds? You’re NEW to this strip, aren’t you?

JJ has commented before that aspects of his life sometimes appear in the strip. Could the hot tub sequence be one of those?

Okay Arlo, you are not that old. I’m over 70 and we are still having a lot of fun.

But who or what is going to show up and make them run or try to stay underwater?

I’ve always thought hot tubs should have seat belts or something to deal with falling asleep in them. I’ve fallen asleep in a hot tub a couple of times and mostly been woken up by someone (generally my wife, but once by and embarrassed stranger) because they heard me snoring.

OK – you people with hot tubs – clue me in here. Is is expected that you get naked???? Even with my wife, I’m thinking just ewww.

Americans can’t have a mature understanding of proper physical marital love so they have to have an arrested adolescent understanding of sex…Johnson has Arlo and Janis exhibit a proper understanding of physical marital love…

A friend explained you could tell it was TOO relaxing if you noticed after a while a turd floating in front of you.

If they are in the south, a hot tub would NOT feel good in July. The weather has been like a sauna lately and it is 86 degrees at 10 pm. Cool water would feel good.

Again not “racy” since you see nothing naked. Hints only.

janis was most likely thinking Arlo was going to get frisky at first, but they were both to tired to start any thing so the nods set in.

All right, there are many, MANY things you can do in a hot tub other than sleep. M A N Y things.

And, Janis… still looking good after all these years!!
