In the original “Thimble Theater” comic strip (which ran for NINE YEARS before Popeye showed up in it — but we’re talking after Popeye joined), Sea Hag was probably Popeye’s greatest foe. (Bluto only appeared in one story sequence which just happened to be the one running when the Fleischers made the first Popeye cartoons.)
