Strange thing happened tonite, I went to take my baked potato out of the oven, and the inner glass on the oven door was broken. Large u shaped crack from one side to the other. I’ve never heard of that happening. And it will be months before I get the new oven/ kitchen installed. Rats!
National Be Someone Day. On July 21st, National Be Someone Day challenges each of us to take ten seconds to make a difference in a child’s life. What can you do in ten seconds? We can shift gears or water a plant. We can hear or tell a bad joke. In ten seconds, we can change our minds, and after doing so, say a prayer of thanks. When we walk into a room, in that time, we can register the pain in someone’s eyes and begin to provide comfort. We can praise and honor someone who deserves it.We can also commit to reporting child abuse. On July 21st, take the pledge to be the person to make a difference in a child’s life. Most importantly, be someone prepared to report when a child trusts you enough and tells you they are experiencing abuse. Ten seconds can change a child’s life.
I’ll keep you all posted as to when my book gets published. Target is to get it first on Amazon (hopefully later this year) so it can get some reviews (hopefully all good) and I hope to have it in print form next year. It’s still in the early stages, getting formatted, etc. So it will be a while yet, but I’m excited to see things starting on it. I wrote my first draft of the story back in 2005 and it was only around 20,000 words then. Not a book then – more of a short story. I just wrote it for fun. I named a bunch of characters after past and present cats – Max, Oreo, Cookie, Moe, Ralph, Dexter, Ike, Heidi, Trixie, Marcy and Misty (I’m probably missing some). And I had a lot of fun writing the limericks that the kids wrote for a school assignment. I put the book aside for years before I read it again and found so many ways to further develop characters and I got the story to be over 30,000 words. I put it aside again and when I read a couple years later, I found more to add to the story. Now it’s 41,000 words – an actual book (not a novel, but a kid’s book – still very entertaining though – there are parts of it that still make me laugh). My dream when I was just a kid was to someday have a book published. I hope this will sell well once it comes out. I don’t expect to get rich on it – I just want to entertain people with it.
Wow, that it rare, but does happen. Cause is usually a tiny crack or nick in the glass that has gone unnoticed over time…until the heat/cool cycle is too much and it “pops”. Should be replaceable…but I like new stoves!
Sounds like really good advice. Let sleeping dogs lie, as they say. It was lucky for the dog that that was Chesney and not Lily. On another note, saw two robins, a sparrow, and a rabbit while out walking today.

Don’t Bwonk Bwonk a dog’s nose and don’t rub a cat’s belly (unless you know the cat is okay with it). And don’t spit into the wind.

So Chesney had to go to the vet, but what happened to the dog? I doubt he came out without some damage also.

Poor Annie, vets are pricey
