Tomorrow: Phoebe and Marigold return to find Earth is a dust storm-ridden wasteland. In their shock and horror, neither notices the butterfly crushed under Pheobe’s shoe.
I’m guessing he’d forgotten a couple of hours’ conversation with some girl who said she was his future daughter. Sure, it was interesting, but three hours in the life of a kid, remembered 25 years later? It’s not going to occur to him until something jogs his memory… (Sure, there was a unicorn too, but Shield of Boringness :) )
This arc has led me to believe that Phoebe gets all her looks from her mom. I can’t see any similarity between her and young Ethan. Now, personality-wise, she’s definitely his daughter.
And when they get back, they’ll find out Phoebe stepped on a butterfly in the past and now the world is run by Unicorns…. which is a lot like it normally is, just some extra sparkles around.
Now I’m remembering a scene in the webcomic Narbonic by Shaenon Garrity: Dave Davenport was telling a girl in a bar about his romantic woes with Helen Narbon (both of them are mad scientists). The girl said he was overthinking the matter, and she believed he and “Mom” could work it out. When she then tried to run away without explaining, Dave shouted, “Young lady, you get back here this instant or I’ll remember to ground you for a month!”

Surprised she didn’t pull a Marty and just say she meant Daddy-O.

“Dirty pool, Dad,” she complained.

Marigold’s not worried about changing the future as long as she’s still fabulous.
