For some, using mini-keyboards to communicate is a painful experience for both the fingers and the eyes. They just don’t need the problem. And who can appreciate a photo of the family or a landscape on a dinky screen? [Specially when one has to wait while it’s dug out of a hundred or more other miscellaneous files.]
I have a friend who texts and sends messages without proofing, and sometimes they’re so garbled that I truly can’t figure out what she was trying to say.
I know a few older folks, boomers particularly, who openly despise modern technology such as smart phones, but secretly rely on them for emails and texts and checking grocery flyers. All the while claiming how great those simple days were when they were young.

My sister does not use the computer, and I have a hard time getting to talk to her on the phone. I may have to break down and write her a letter!!
