Okay, since this comic sorta touches on word play/meaning and all: does anybody know what the term is for words that have seemingly totally unrelated meanings? Examples: seal (animal, to close); host (large group, small wafer); issue (publication, children, problem); box (container, sport); bear (animal, to support). Can anybody direct me to a website where such things are discussed? THANX! (Just another day in the life of an English-speaker. . .)
I’m thinking that critter is the plane, the pilot, the crew and the passenger compartment all in one. For Star Trek fans, he’s a first generation transporter. Here to there a byte at a time.
