    I played at a guitar when I was younger. It took 2-3 weeks for my fingers to callous enough to get clean sounds. after that, the notes were good, but I wasn’t.

    The famous cellist, Pablo Casals, still practiced daily well into his 80’s. When someone asked him why, he said, “Because I think I’m seeing some progress.”

    Yeah – I learned some piano, some violin, some flute and a lot of horn and every teacher I had said the same thing. When you get to the point where you like the sounds you are making, practice gets easier. However, you will never get there if you don’t get through the period of practice when you don’t like the sounds you are making.
