My sentiments exactly. When company is coming so many of those little annoying projects get done. A friend was due this week, had to cancel but the guest room is neat and clean. Now to find appropriate curtains.
That doesn’t work. Shame only motivates when it is rare. Like a smell, it becomes indistinguishable from the background when it is experienced regularly.

Gave up cleaning for company. I so rarely get company that it doesn’t matter anyway.
