I like to think Sluggo’s expression shows that he knows exactly what is happening but is powerless to prevent it.

Well that’s a funny gag which all depends on whoever X was (Sluggo) missed the opportunity of making 3 in a row with the third X.

Also, I believe because the sun’s angle only changes in one direction, getting lower in the sky as the day progresses, the house is sitting on the equator with the window facing west and it is either the spring or fall equinox.

A good gag, why overthink it?

I’m such a superficial reader. I was wondering how she whited out Sluggo’s "x"s. Where’s her white color bar? : )

At speech meets, we often had to wait around in rooms with blackboards, so we’d put up grid of four 4×4s and play 3D tic-tac-toe. Later on, it was as convenient to play it on paper, or to use my magnetic chess set, which has the required number of squares.
