Our mask mandate is back. I’ve been wearing mine for the last three weeks. Actually I don’t mind wearing one, it’s nice being anonymous! And I don’t have to put on makeup.
I let my new kitten (working name is Oliver, but it’s not quite definite) out of his cage when I got home from work tonight and he’s been having a blast chasing all the other cats. They have mostly jumped back away from him and none have shown serious aggression – just a little hiss here and a little growl there. Cassie almost started playing with him. But the way he’s been jumping at one cat, then another, none of them have had much chance to take a swipe at him. The first time I let him out of the cage, he disappeared briefly and I couldn’t find him. But he’s staying in sight now, so I decided he’s over his fear (I see mischief in h is eyes now, not fear) and I’m not going to put him back in the cage unless he jumps on my bed tonight and starts playing with my feet. I hope he stays downstairs tonight. The cage door is open so he can go in there if he wants to.
I’m up anyway and would be happy to wake him up for treats. The guy who kept and adopted the kitty several weeks ago sent me a picture last night. Bella is sitting with her newsiblings looking all adorable and cute. He said she’s just fit right in and they feel lucky she chose them to be her new family.
My little Oliver" kissed" me this morning. He was having such fun last night running loose and doing that little sideways “dance” at all the other cats, challenging them to try to get him, and the other cats were backing off rather than attacking and being mean, so I decided he was safe running loose. I woke up early this morning (about 3 hours before it was time to get up) and I decided to check on him and see how he was. I’ve never seen that little guy sleep yet. When he came out of wherever he was hiding, he was ready to play again. I was easily able to pick him up for some cuddles and was surprised when he started to lick my nose and my chin. So he is all settled down and the rabbit cage is going back out to the garage. He hasn’t come upstairs yet, so I was able to sleep (and the other cats had a way to escape from him). It’s time to go downstairs now and play with him.
Sounds like a reasonable request. Unfortunately, Chesney will either still be asleep at three or try to be first at the food bowl himself. On another note, saw two dragonflies, a robin, a damselfly, and a rabbit while out walking today.

Hopefully there is more than one food bowl.
After yesterday’s wild weather, today’s blue skies and fluffy white clouds was kinda boring!

Ollie, you’d better set you own alarm.

If Oliver is talking about 3:00 in the morning, Annie would be home in bed then, not doling out cat food.

Annie would never make lil Ollie wait for his food.

Chesney would make sure he is first in line and not bother waking anyone else up.

The cats believe I need to get up in the wee smalls to play with them.
