I read today that of all the cats, orange striped tabby are very talkative. We could have told the researchers that!
We had the mother of all thunder storms today. One of the windows in the breakfast area was even leaking! An inch in just over 20 minutes. Well dry out and get hot next week. At least July was on the cool side. Now August better not fry!
Well, Chesney, there are worse things than being served burned meat loaf. Like having nothing to eat at all. You owe Annie your everlasting thanks for taking such good care of you.
Alpha has very distinct tastes in foodstuffs. Like all good predators he will eat almost anything he can catch.
Alpha being Alpha, however, he has to add his own spin on food.
He loves hot and spicy foodstuffs. This morning, after his morning patrol of his territory, he dined on hot sausage with Tabasco sauce. He loves spicy chili, curries, vindaloos – anything that bites back. If it makes the average humans’ eyes water, he’s up for it!
Of course, after such meals he does a pretty good imitation of a Labrador dog…
Today is DOGust, the universal birthday for all shelter animals, per Patrick McDonnell, the talented creator of Mutts!! Wish I had some shrimp tails for my kitties today, but I am baking some salmon and I suspect that will do.
We had a humdinger of a storm last night. Started about 10:30. First 67 mph wind that was blowing down trees every where (got my Granny Smith apple tree). Then thunder and lightning. Then the power went off (downed trees down will do that). I picked up my phone, turned on its flashlight and went to get a lantern and big flashlight. This morning I saw my tree down on the west side of the house. Then went to the decks on the east side and saw that we got 2.5" of rain. There were storms on and off all night. Power came back on about 1:30, everything beeping woke me. The good news is that we have had 7 days of heat advisories with heat indexes of 105-115. That storm was a cold front coming through. The next 4 days we will have temps in the low 80s in day time and low 60s or high 50s at night.
If you don’t like it, then go cook your own food, Chesney! By the way, love Oliver stammering out his answer. That’s both cute AND funny. On another note, saw two sparrows while out walking today.

Chesney wouldn’t be Chesney if he weren’t complaining or causing trouble. He’s lucky Annie loves him, or puts up with him, no matter what he does.

Chesney, I’m sure the rest of the meatloaf is delicious.
