That Nate. What a guy always willing to lend a helping hand.

This opens up a couple questions. If there were no stairs ready in panel 1, how did the mouse get up on the top of the railing? And question 2, why couldn’t the flying mice in their airplanes offer to fly the birthday girl up into the dumpster?

Of course they were, DUH! After all, this is Nate we’re asking!

Remember when grandma mouse came to visit they made a ladder for her to get up to the dumpster. This is such a great comic strip, can’t start the day without it.

I worry about the people who make weird comments here.

Sometimes you need to just let the people doing the work … do the work.

large steps for mice. It seems like just a board leaning against the dumpster would work better.

This is just to prove that Nate will never let his buddies down. If for some terrible reason he couldn’t finish the stairs, they could always hitch a ride on Louie, who would float into the dumpster on a wave of stench induced euphoria.

All that trouble for a rat

Why are the steps human sized? and, wouldn’t a simple ramp be easier for the mice to use?

A simple ramp would have done the job just as well, with much less work.

This big bad pirate strip just gets sillier all time. *LOL :-D LOL !!!
