Classic parenting. It’s in SO many back-to-school commercials. Heck, it’s even in Christmas songs (“And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again”).
It’s usually the mother who loves the first day of school the most. And nowadays it’s even more precious after the past year and a half of schools being closed because of COVID-19.
I don’t have to be ready. All my kids are grown up with families of their own. All my grandkids are past school age. My only great grandchild is less than one year old so will not go to school for several years yet. However, it will be nice not to have those kids in my neighborhood running around all hours of the day making noise!

It’d be more gratifying if the kid was learning something, but getting him out of the house is a good start.
