Is that a 1970s model?

They still have TV repair men?

From the look of the TV, it has been at least a 50 year relationship.

It looks like a black and white TV.

TV is a medium because anything well done is rare.

But it’s the 7th game of the series. I gotta have it by tonight.

Why do cartoonists always show TV servicemen carrying TVs with the screen outwards?

Nobody repairs anything anymore. I had a broken monitor. I traced the problem down to the capacitors in the power supply. I could buy a kit on line with the capacitors all I had to do was pull the power supply (Thank you YouTube) and remove and install the new capacitors.

I went on a nationwide search for someone who knew how to solder (I used to but that was 60 years ago, besides I no longer have the equipment). When I asked about on line, most of the responses I got were, “Just buy a new one; they are cheap enough.”

That wasn’t the point. I did not want to send an otherwise operational piece of equipment to recycling for the want of $14 worth of capacitors. I did find a person half way across the country.

It sort of reminds me of the old joke about the rich man. His buddy said, “Hey, is that a new car?” “Yup, the old one got dirty, so I threw it away.”

This is me at the computer repair place.

But…he wanted one of those big ones that hang on the wall!!

Dang – I never saw a console that small! (0r are those two guys just really large?)

This sure dated this cartoon. I hadn’t realized it had been around THAT long. Should this be called ‘Nerman Classics?’

When was the last time you saw a cabinet TV? My father had a TV repair shop and we used to carry those things for him. Most weighed a ton!

Today he’d be holding an I-phone or Android. It’s like losing a third arm.
