They’re also good for “dumb” animals to sharpen their teeth and claws on. So, you’d better watch your step, Gaylord.

It must be nice to be someone that is satisfied by such simple things.

Better her playing with the squeaky toy than zapping you, Gaylord!

The first time Katie Bell caught a vole, I realized that they also squeak when squeezed … but only a couple times.

I once asked a vet why in the world animals would like squeaky toys at all given their dislike of loud or startling sounds. The vet told me, “they sound like the dying cries of the little creatures they would like to eat.” I was disturbed by this, and did not believe it … until I was at a friend’s house who had a dog, and we were playing cards when we heard the dog come in and a “squeak” sound coming with her. Neither of us could see the dog, so I asked, “Oh, did you get her a new squeaky toy?” Her response as she was turning to look at the dog was, “noooo …”

    Hooked on Squeaky!

There are lots of worse ways Broomie could ease her tensions. Any buzzard preferring a zap?

It was a narrow escape, but she squeaked through.
