This isn’t the first time that “Garfield” has made references to the “Peanuts” comics. There was one strip from the 80’s where Garfield looked in the mirror and saw Snoopy as his reflection, and another one from I believe the mid-2000’s, where Garfield came upon Snoopy’s doghouse and laid on top of it.
Actually, though the strip is reminiscent of Peanuts, the artwork is similar to the artwork of Jack Davis and his work for Mad Magazine, especially in the last two panels and Garfield’s expression in the last. Clearly a reflection of Alfred E. Nueman. “What, Me Worry?”
HA! Tell me about it! Garfield didn’t say anything about kicking the football. He just went up an kicked Odie AND the football off the table! *I’ddothesame

Odie is a tad smarter than Charlie Brown here.

The look on Odie’s face when he was holding the football seems like he was going to do “the Lucy” and pull the football away.

Garfield kicks off, and thar Odie goes … “IT’S A GOAL FOR TEAM GARFIELD !!!”.
GARFIELD WINS THE WORLD SERIES !!!
Let’s watch the replay fans, WOW, what a fantastic goal, you must be so proud to win the finals boot cup.
What a champion, what do you have to say for yourself Garfield ?

Garfield would’ve most likely pulled a Lucy Van Pelt. Odie still lost in the end unfortunately
