Meh, sometimes I want to for instance take a picture of say a sunset, and thinking about the picture composition makes me appreciate it even more. The technology can be additive, not detractive.
Recently bought one of those new smart phones. I still find myself forgetting it much of the time because I’m used to a flip that is easy to slip into a pocket and forget. This new phone is bulky so I usually keep it on the table or a desk and forget it when I head out. I’m not sure if its a good or bad thing.
People need to wake up and realize that they are voluntarily dumbing themselves down with these “smart” phones. I call these devices stupidphones for this reason; they aren’t making anyone smarter, in fact, the opposite is happening. There are those who can’t function or go anywhere without these toys. It’s an addiction.
Today’s strip reminds me of last year’s Super Bowl broadcast when they would show scenes of the crowd. The camera panned along the stands and you could see fans staring at their stupidphones rather than watching the game. This is after paying thousands of dollars for a ticket.
Why not? You don’t want to take pictures of the beautiful background?
Ok, ok. I’m guessing the real joke here is that, even though she could put the phone away to enjoy nature, she’s compelled not to out of habit. She just can’t take her eyes off it.

Just use “Airplane” mode. Or in this case call it “Peaceful Meadow” mode.

Nice Pastoral, you would think they would enjoy the ambiance, but they had other plans!

Beautiful landscape♡. Phoebe could take some pictures of she and Marigold in the beauty of the nature.

I love comic strips like these. They mostly let the drawings speak for themselves

Don’t teach her how to take selfies Phoebe, or it will never end.

This scene is OUTSTANDING! Marigold doesn’t need a mirror nor does Phoebe need that phone. Enjoy nature, little ones.

Appropriately, I’m sitting in a field against a tree in Grand Teton National Park because I’m getting cell reception here and not at my campsite.
