After 2016, seasons have been way off and hard to predict. Back to school in August is ridiculous, with 80-90* weather in a classroom. To me, that’s child-teacher abuse! Nothing wrong with going back after Labor Day. Still warm but not as!
I am at the stage of my life where I feel like August. I still have some “summer” left in me but the nights are getting longer and winter will eventually come.
I was sitting out on the back porch (third floor) looking at the trees — mostly maples, I think — and thinking how they had just really leafed out full that week, and I started thinking how all too soon they would start turning fall colors, then going brown and blowing away . . .
. . . and suddenly, for just a moment, it was like I could FEEL time passing by, every moment on the crest of a wave.
Poor Stan, he can come and stay in my backyard here in sunny Florida all winter if he wants to. Plenty of cows down here, mostly Texas Longhorns, that thrive in our climate. I call them aqua-cows as they spend the summer heat usually standing in the nearest water – which during the rainy season is just about everywhere.

Reminds me of a lovely spring day long ago.

That’s all.

Sigh. It happens more quickly as time passes, although global warming is extending summer more and more.
