I worked at home for 8 years about 20 years ago. Early VPN connection replaced T1 internet on my first work station. Yes, I had a FAX machine. Flew to office about once a month to chat person to person.

When did Pig get a dog?

Actually, I have a hybrid schedule and I can set my own days and times in the office. Of course, having to shower and dress nicely is kind of a pain.

I’m with Pig on this one.

Looking at it now, it was pretty dumb logic.

Our move back to the office has been postponed from Sept 7th to Oct 4th. I’ve mixed emotions about it. I’m tired of sitting around the house all day, every day but not looking forward to wearing masks all day, either. (Technically we won’t have to wear them while sitting alone at our desks.) …sigh… the new normal sure looks rather abnormal….

Panel 1 is what I imagine the first week back in the office will be – everyone standing around “catching up” and no work being done. I so dread the yakking and the false cheerfulness.

Why am I unsurprised Pig has a Chihuahua?

Just means he needs to find a different office to work for. One where casual Friday dress in other offices is everday dress in that office and casual Fridays means coming in in your pajamas. One where they have a sleeping room and have nap times regularly scheduled cause that was the buisness owners’ favorite time when thery were in kindergarten. Those buisnesses do exist, just uncommon.

Maybe this pandemic is showing us who are truly productive members of society?
