Living in France, I’ve seen that last gesture a few times. True story: my brother and sister-in-law were visiting, here. We went shopping. An old guy we knew asked us, as we walked through the parking lot, if we would give a push to another old guy whose old(!) car wouldn’t start. We pushed his car easily until it started, and as he drove off, waving his thanks, my sister-in-law, thinking of Rosie the Riviter, showed her muscles. The old dudes laughed. When we explained her faux-pas to her, she was totally embarrassed. As Benny Hill would say, it was too late to apologize!

I have a new blu-ray of an old tv series (1989) and the only “extras” are interviews of the English language cast. But, the language options for the subtitles are “Full English, song lyrics and signage,” “Spoken English only,” “Spanish,” and “Japanese.” The spoken languages available are English, Japanese, Spanish. The Spanish is pretty good, but the English dub sucks, a 12 year old boy is not supposed to speak in a baritone.

Sometimes “they” just don’t load enough on the DVD!
