We played the ‘alphabet’ game. Who could find the next letter on the other car’s license plates.

Mom and dad played “Don’t make me stop the car and come back there” game…

The John Cage song would make me run from the car screaming.

I think this would sell quite well if it really existed.

Back in the late ’80s we entertained our kids on long drives with an album (on cassette tape) by Joe Scruggs called “Traffic Jams”. One of the songs was indeed called “Are We There Yet?” The lyrics of all the songs were pretty clever and stood up to repeated listening. Good times. His albums are now easily found on the Internet.

Now, that’s music for the ages! (Mostly, for the ages four through nine or ten.)
