@Linguist Today’s strip IS funny but arresting our HERO Mr Andrew Capp just because of his notoriety makes sense but can’t be done :o) my avatar is again my birth sign Leo roaring his head off because s happy like I am aside from the discomfort , come avete passatoil vostro Sabato mio meno veccho Amicho? our Saturday should be vey busy because my spouse has decided to defrost our freezer and it going to belike an archeological dig , we could find things there from 1990 well in the meantime I try to stay out of the way,( temo bellum et donne ferrentes) keep safe and a bientot amigo
I’ve been watching the YouTube… First and Fourth Amendment… Audit the Auditors videos of American police using similar tactics… Frightening to imagine that that thinking is infiltrating over here…

Today’s Andy reminds me of my grandfather who was not opposed to the preventative measure, like a cuff across the ear. He’d say, " That’s fer nothin’, jest wait’ll ye do something! "
Maybe Officer Thwaites was educated in a strict Roman Catholic School. George Carlin’s monologue on confession exemplifies that thought Process. "’Cause that’s what they taught us; it’s what’s in your mind that counts; your intentions, that’s how we’ll judge you. What you want to do. Mortal sin had to be a grievous offense, sufficient reflection and full consent of the will. Ya had’ta WANNA! In fact, WANNA was a sin all by itself. “Thou Shalt Not WANNA”. If you woke up in the morning and said, “I’m going down to 42nd street and commit a mortal sin!” Save your car fare; you did it, man! Absolutely!" (Of course, this is the abbreviated version so as to not offend any delicate sensibilities. The full monologue is about 4 minutes.)
Google translate can’t make sense out “emo Daneos” and “Correction emo Daneos”. It looks like someone is trying to appear urbane by using some Latinate language he or she doesn’t really speak / understand. We’re not impressed.

Not for what he did, but for what he’s gonna do.

Pre-crime ain’t a thing on a hunch. Camp out the pub and bust in when the first punch is thrown.

Look me Love, it’s only victims that can’t say I need protection just in case. And the flippin’ perpetrator that can say “I have my rights”.

This reminds me of what Andy once told a cop who was arresting him for Assault & Battery: “I thought he was going to hit me, so I hit him back first.”

Andy looks disappointed, I expected more of smirk since it looks like he’s getting off……….for now.
