I am just trying to figure out if this mother-in-law joke was first said by Harvey Korman on the Carol Burnett Show, or by Jackie Gleason on the Honeymooners?
Had he just known a little earlier in their marriage that’s all he had to do, Brutus might not have gone bald or gained that weight from not having all that stress of Mother’s visits. That’s in the past; too late now for that now. However, tomorrow now offers hope……
I wish my MIL had made me that offer. However for the first five years of our married life she not only lived less than two miles from us, she was our landlord.

Sounds like mother Gargle isn’t very good at negotiating.

Can’t wait for her NOT to come! Me also—she’s the worst mother-in-law.

Don’t get your hopes up too high, Brutus. I don’t think that woman would stay away for very long, no matter how you treated her.

I think Brutus is willing to give Mother Gargle all the respect she deserves and he’s been doing that since they got married.
