I’ve had my doubtful phase (Charlie Brown), my crabby phase (Lucy) and my analytical phase (Linus). I am now in my Snoopy phase – delusional but happy.

Someone once did a comparison of nations to Peanuts characters.

    United State – Charlie Brown

    France – Lucy

    Great Britain – Linus

    Germany – Schroder

    Italy – Snoopy

Before Peanuts, in my 1950s childhood we had Nancy and Sluggo, Little Lulu and Tubby, and of course Dennis the Menace (from Menacepotamia). Also the Jackson Twins and one few people remember, Patsy Walker, a reach out to little girls.
