Maybe except for the teacher seeming to understand math… and care. Remember the Texas grade-school teacher who refused to teach math to her students, because she didn’t believe in it? She didn’t lose her job. (That was a few decades ago, but I think it’s still relevant.)
I consider myself fairly intelligent, but math escapes me completely. Always has, even in elementary school. Languages, on the other hand, are a snap. Can’t be good at everything.
