Also if he tucks his tee-shirt into his high wasted pant.

If I were to wear one, it’d be either Chicago or “Weird Al” Yankovic.

Last week, I saw a young kid getting off a school bus wearing an “AC/DC” shirt. AC/DC was 40 years ago. That’d be like kids of my generation wearing “Benny Goodman” T-shirts or “Enrico Caruso” shirts…

I would proudly wear a Benny Goodman or Glen Gray tee shirt.

My oldest one is: ‘Tales from Topographic Oceans’. Yes, 1973. I was running concert concessions at the U and they arrived with a semi loaded with stuff! We pulled in more cash for our charity in four hours than the rest of the year.

Don’t have any old concert t-shirts from the 60’s – all worn out years ago.

Unfortunately, t shirts aren’t made well enough to withstand years of wear anymore. But there are plenty of t shirt companies who will sell reproductions for $5 (free shipping for orders over $51).

When I first saw one of my middle school students wearing a Led Zeppelin, I was impressed. Then I learned that they were for sale at Target, KMart, Walmart …

My recently deceased wife always told me that KISS was the very first concert she ever went to without an Adult. I always liked them never saw them in concert. I went to concerts with her I didn’t like to (hated the traffic) but she did and whatever she wanted I tried to do for her. We were going to try to see Phil Collins when he was coming to town this year because we both wanted to but alas it won’t happen now.

Never bought an overpriced t-shirt at a concert, but in the early 90’s my son gave me one from his band. (2 European tours and south America once)

Most of my t-shirts have to do with old, out-of-date high tech.

Modern metal heads and their pyrotechnics. . . Pffft! I went to a Beethoven concert where they used real Howitzers.

It was pretty fly, for an Old Guy.

The last music concert I went to was Linda Ronstadt, with Charlie Daniels as the opening act. Since we were guests of a roadie friend, and entered at the truck dock, I don’t know if they were doing merchandising in the lobby. The local symphony orchestra doesn’t sell tee shirts.

When I went to get my 2nd COVID shot, an older gentleman (maybe 10 years older than me) waiting in line was wearing a “Beach Boys Endless Summer” T-shirt. Instant flashback to my junior high years in SoCal…the Beach Boys were my first “favorite band.”

Pluggers can have the timate revenge on kids who wear reproduction t-shirts of bands they know nothing about and have never seen – “Oh, that band. I saw ’em 6 times” usually does it.

The one t-shirt that trumps them all, “I may be old but at least I got to see all the cool bands.”

I’ve been to a number of concerts but only purchased one T-shirt. That was for the Simon and Bard Group supporting The Enormous Radio LP. Great fusion jazz music.
