On August 5, 1974, four days before Richard Nixon submitted his resignation, the Acting Assistant Attorney General for Office of Legal Counsel Mary C. Lawton issued the following opinion:
“Under the fundamental rule that no one may be a judge in his own case, the President cannot pardon himself.”
I hereby declare that I can do whatever I want, and that I am not here to govern for the people, but rather the people are there to kiss my butt and do whatever I want so my ego does not get hurt, therefore the elections shall not reflect the will of the people but I can delude myself into changing those as it suits me (including extorting a governor into changing the results, and saying that the elections were stolen but only if I don’t like the result, otherwise it does reflect the will of the people )

My dad always jeered that Bill Clinton was the only prez to ever get impeached. He just couldn’t forgive his extracurricular shenanigans. Ai yi yi.

When Bush Sr. pardoned the remaining Iran-Contra felons just before leaving office, he was effectively pardoning himself!

Figuring out the best next word to use is difficult because you don’t want to list your crimes.

So what happened in the last panel? Did Guard Duck cut off Rat before he could finish writing the note?
mwksix about 3 years ago
The last guy tried that. Don’t think it worked then, either…

Rat’s crazed expression in panel 3… definitely worth the wait.

Doubt the pardon will work, Rat. Guard Duck isn’t the pardonning type…. except when it comes to himself.
