When I worked for the big W, I was “volunteered” to go work at a new store that wasn’t open yet. Over an hours drive each way – in a location that was so bad that things were missing or stolen before the store was even opened.
Worse of all, after a weeks work, I didn’t get paid. My store manager told me that the other store had to pay me, the other store said corporate had sent me so my own store had to pay me. Took a month to straighten it out.

Yeah, I volunteered to fly to Phoenix one time to help at our Bottling plant out there. Guess who got volunteered everytime after that.
Actually I didn’t mind. It was a break from my regular routine.
