And in that moment I should have turned and walked away, knowing that even if the feeling was mutual I was not a good enough person to be with her. I tried and things got terrible. 30 odd years later and i hear she’s still single, never married, I’m widowed no kids, and i know that it is hopeless to try. Life choices have consequences and I must bear the brunt of the costs.

What kind of dance food is this? Hotdog and drink in a cup with a straw? What ever happened to punch and cookies?

My first girlfriend and I were planning our wedding and our life together! Unfortunately, my parents decided to move and I had to go with them! I was NINE at the time. I do still wonder (at times) what would have happened if we didn’t move.

A person always falls for the one they least expect. The one they always saw as a friend, but not marriage material. The one they feel most comfortable being with, the one they trust above all others.

I’ve heard that phrase, “he makes me laugh” many times but don’t take it literally and start tickling her.

Its weird and wonderful when this kind of thing happens. I am currently dating someone I have known for years. We just starting dating beginning of August. If you told me at the beginning of this summer that I would be in a romantic relationship with someone I thought of pretty much as a “buddy” for years, I would laughed at you.

Never underestimate the power of a good sense of humor. My sweet and handsome husband makes me laugh every day. Talking with him is my favorite thing to do.

Best relationships do start out as friendships…..

Ah,sweet mystery life at last I’ve fouunnnd yoooouuuuuu….I know at last the secret of it allllll……

One of my women friends said the same thing to me (what Gord and Tracy are thinking in the first two panels), when asked about how she and her husband got together. She went away to university, and when she came home for Christmas break, she saw her brother’s close friend—who had been around all of her life—for the very first time; and he said the same thing to her later, that it was as if he’s never seen her before but just his friend’s sister. It was love at first sight for both of them then, and just two years ago they celebrated their golden anniversary.

I think they’ll make it. But I didn’t want to hear that he did to her, or their children, what his father once did to him.

Love it! Sparks are flying!

A friendship that caught fire and became so much more, turned out to be the best kind of relationship. 33+ years and still very much in love.

Ah , young love.

And now it begins!

I will say – at my 20 year class reunion a gal and I jointly discovered that this had been exactly the case when we were in high school.
