They waived adoption fees at the Animal Shelter Sunday and there was a line around the building. What was nice was that dogs and cats who were seniors got adopted. And cats and dogs who were there a long time got adopted!
National Cherry Popsicle Day. I would LOVE a cherry popsicle right now. Or an orange one – that’s my favorite flavor. Orange Creamsicles are even better.
I volunteer at the local no-kill shelter once a week. There are two bonded kitties there, Abbot and Costello, who have some sort of eye disease. Abbot just had his second eye removed.Costello, who is a total love bug, is showing signs of following close behind. I can’t take them home because I have two neurotic cats at home already. No one wants two blind cats. They are breaking my heart.
This is why all my cats are indoor cats. Not only will they not get lost, I also don’t have to worry about them being attacked by predators. On another note, saw two rabbits, a robin, and two juncos while out walking today.
Our neighbor, from the other side of the stream, had a cat who liked to visit our cats every day. We called her Abby. When they moved 13 miles away they took her with them.
Two weeks later, Abby showed up at our door. We called them and they came to pick her up.
Two weeks later, Abby showed up at our door. We called them and they said, “Guess she wants to still live there. Would you want to adopt her?”

They should also bite the idiot who left them behind.

My young cousins found some dumped kittens during a Boy Scout camping trip. They adopted them.

My kitties are safe. I love being outdoors in the summertime, but I’m not into camping.

We did.
