I always wondered, why men accepted to wear this torture instrument. Just like the extreme high heels that women are often wearing today, they can hardly walk in them.
I may not have clip on ties; but the ties I do wear on special occasions are all pre-tied, so I can just slip them on over my head and I’m good to go…..
Most pluggers have realized that they don’t need to wear a tie at all — or at least only on extremely rare occasions. It goes with not having to wear high heels.
most of my clip on ties were uniform related for safety reasons. We had those in the police so baddies couldn’t grab them, sort of overlooked Sam Browne belt being more grabable.
Nobody, repeat nobody over the age of 12 should wear a clip-on tie. A modern North American man should be able to tie his own—period. So much the better if he also knows how to tie a bow tie.
Ever since I was a teenager, I have enjoyed wearing a tie, unless I was required to. Even now, a LOT of years later, I wear one to work during the period between Dec. 23, and January 5.
I learned how to tie a necktie on my younger brother back in the days when all males, even kids, wore a suit and tie to church. It was a good thing I remembered how to do so decades later when my then-fiance had to go to a club initiation, and couldn’t remember how to tie a necktie. He had stopped at a nearby restaurant to call me to come to his rescue, and the procedure was entertaining to the employees and patrons!

Go to YouTube. Search for “tiehole” – clear, very slow, and easy to follow instructions.

Google “necktie phallic symbol” and you will see 899,000 results. That’s reasons enough for me – and never tie it short.

I tossed all of my ties when I retired, except for a few that go with costumes.

I have tie ties, clip-on ties, and a zipper tie. Haven’t worn any of them in years. When I do wear a tie it’s usually a Bolo tie.
