I’m pretty sure the Gubmint doesn’t censor the media here in America! …after all, if they DID censor it, all of its citizens would be in a constant state of outrage
Maybe the media and the government are controlled by private interests. After all, money does the talking & heavily influences lawmaking in this world.
Old old Wizard of Id: an earl is visiting Id. He is walking with the king and asks a peasant “how do they treat you here?” The peasant says “I can’t complain.” The earl: “how nice. Why is that?” Peasant: “it’s forbidden.”
Freedom of the Press. He who owns the press publish anything they want. It’s up to the reader to decide whether it is true or not.
I trust the mainstream media very little. Fox News even less and social media not at all.
The main problem I have with the media isn’t with how they report what they consider news (I’ve been trained on how to spot biases), it’s what they suppress. What an outlet does not report says a lot about its beliefs.
I believe the New York Times when it says “All the News That’s Fit to Print.” So who decides what is fit to print? They are admitting that they are a multi-page editorial media.
When Twitter allows the Taliban and Al-Qaeda on but not a former President, their credibility goes right out the window. Same for F/B and Instagram. Break ’em uo!
The government encourages social media to do that job for it. Facebook just hired John Branscome, staff director and chief counsel for the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Technology at a huge salary to turn the heat off.
We are being lied to. No one can tell the truth from the lies. We don’t need to censor anything when we pollute our media with dis- and mis- information.
Curious and bitterly ironic that today’s comments about the media and those concerning the Covid 19 Blues are expressed in almost the same terms. And, it appears all the implications are similar, i.e., nothing can be done to cure either. No wonder depression weighs so heavily.
Our Government has censored plenty in its time. WW II comes to mind. State secrets are important, however secrets of statesmen and stateswomen are a totally different matter. You can classify the A-Bomb but not the Marilyn Monroe bombshell. (Here’s to you Monica L.)
Proud to state that a couple of days ago I found out my comment had been deleted from Time Magazine.com AND my account was deleted from the Huffington Post on-line. No dissent tolerated!
But then it wouldn’t be censoring, just writing history and public thoughts to n coincide with lefty “thinking” (with a biiigggg question mark over that last verb)

“I can’t say” might have been a better answer.

I wonder where the slabs come from. Who keeps the stack of slabs topped off? And, how do they make those wooden slabs?

The MEDIA censors the government. Nothing that doesn’t conform to their Liberal agenda gets any coverage at all!

Wood ducks nest up to 70 feet up in a tree. Shortly after hatching, they jump to the forest floor, get up and follow their mother to the water.
