Reminds me of a small company where I worked, who “solved” their cashflow and loss of managers problems with one swell idea: they sold promotions. $5000 for a manager’s position, $10,000 to be a Director, and up to $100,000 for Vice President. The owners called it “having skin in the game”. Ended up with several new bosses whose qualifications were only the strengths of their bank accounts… yeah, the company went downhill fast, and when the company went bankrupt only the owners came out ahead…
