We all have a limited ability to handle worries. Push another one in and one drops out. This would be a good thing, except that the ones I retain are the MOST worrisome, not the least… or even a random selection.
Several nations have declared it over and labeled it no more serious than flu, Norway being one. IIRC Japan has or is about to as well. If only our leaders would wake up. Joe. Joe?
I wonder that too.I got Covid despite being vaccinated. I got the J&J back in March. Mild infection, but inconvenient.I now feel unprotected. Who knows when a booster shot will be approved for J&J?!
I was in a Zoom meeting back in the spring, and when I said I thought we’d still be wearing masks in the fall everyone said I was a Negative Nancy and there was no way. Well, “Way.” I’ve never been sorrier to have been right.
This strip illustrates part of societies problem at the moment, people are fed up with “the new normal”, particularly with the inability of officials to say the same thing three times in a row. The story keeps changing all the time but it always in in more govt control and penalties. Last year’s heroes are this year’s convicts.
Although widely said it was not like the flu, it is acting just like the flu. It keep coming back as a different mutation. Some years they get (scientific guess) the formula for the flu shots on target and some years they miss.
In the first year of Covid, the US experienced about 450,000 deaths and everybody hollered. But we continue to experience 480,000 deaths due to tobacco year in and year out and nobody cares. Hey, they put a tiny little warning on the tobacco products, what more do you want? Hhmm, ban tobacco? Wait, that involves money to politicians.
We need to get back to work and restore our country. Take our jobs back from overseas. We will not survive on govt welfare of Free everything.
Well, I hate to tell you this, Rat, but the Black Death still exists centuries after it decimated the population of Europe. I’m guessing Covid will too, but hopefully it won’t spread by…rats like the Black Death did.
I had to figuratively do that with one of my friends. During the early days of the pandemic and through the darkest days of winter, my friend would post things on Facebook about how it takes 12-15 years to develop a vaccine and that everybody who made the poor career decision to work in the hospitality or entertainment industries needed to buckle down and learn a “real” trade because we were going to be locked down for a decade or more. I ended up blocking his posts from appearing in my feed because – as with Rat – he had filled up my negativity bucket and I couldn’t take another drop.
Not to worry, PBS fans. While Rat manages to keep his Negativity Bucket from becoming over-filled, we all can take comfort in knowing that Neighbor Bobs are expendable and replaceable!

We will keep getting new viruses even if we get this one knocked out eventually. That’s not negativity; that’s reality.

Norway has now removed all restrictions and moved on to a “live with covid” stance. Sooner or later, the rest of the world must follow.

The longer morons keep refusing the vaccine, the longer the virus will be able to keep mutating.
Lost a loved one to the Delta variant? Thank an anti-vaxxer (preferably with a very large stick).
