On the Greek islands, long, long ago, / they had no problem letting skin show. / Yards of cloth on their laps; / sometimes capes, rarely wraps. / Didn’t anyone know how to sew ?
Hi all! Things are unusually busy in my non-“That Is Priceless” world this week, so I’m taking a break from originals and posting five “throwback” Masterpieces that date back to this very week in previous years. Enjoy!
Hero Theseus, trapped in a maze / (where the Minotaur, on victims preys), / by Ariadne was saved, / but he then misbehaved / and defied all romantic clichés. /// Ariadne on Naxos was left / by her Theseus. She was bereft. / Dionysus laid claim / to the half-naked dame. / Was she “won” by compassion or theft? /// Some have said Dionysus, a god, / lusted after the young lady’s bod. / He made Theseus leave, / (so these sources believe). / Was her Theseus hero, or fraud?
I have added a comment there (awaiting Mr. Melcher’s approval) pointing to the artist info I used to point to here. First work by this artist used here (2 times, including this Throwback Monday repeat).
has the prior (the 2017 first use of this, my comment there includes the same artist info URL also pointed to by the here link in my blog entry comment).
Of all the the things that annoy chicks/ the worst is the flight of the boychiks/ abandoned and stranded/ by a lout underhanded/ who doesn’t deserve to enjoy chicks…/// and what will she tell her mamA/ to explain the loss of her bra ?/ That she willingly caved/ to the scoundrel depraved/ in a moment of “je ne sais quoi”?///
