I know that typically in the comics medium, Poodles are pictured as females, and female dogs are usually shown as being Poodles. I’d like to comment that “Fred Basset” is, as far as I can remember, the only comic where there has actually been a male Poodle. I haven’t seen him in several years, but he did show up now and then as part of Fred’s group (not facing the Grosvenor Avenue Gang, however). I think his name was Claude.
