“So you don’t hate me or anything”? Because they didn’t hang out for a bit? What a pointless conflict.
Actually, it reminds me of those SNL sketches, The House – a parody of reality TV shows where everything turns into a big deal. Like if 2 guys were hanging out and suddenly another person wants to join in, dramatic music plays, and we cut to individual members of The House on the “Truth Cam” commenting on the situation. Then it all ends with them hugging it out while acoustic guitar music plays. Non-conflict: resolved.
I was joking before about bringing the Spumanti brothers back, but now I think this strip desperately needs those sociopaths.
This reminds me of an old Peanuts strip where Lucy, in the first panel, is feeling depressed. In the second and third panels, Snoopy comes along with two marshmallows on sticks, and offers Lucy one. In the fourth panel, Lucy is sitting at the fire, smiling and saying “It’s hard to feel depressed when you’re sitting behind a marshmallow!”

Throw in some chocolate and graham crackers and you’re all set!

No matter your circumstances, the one who brings the marshmallows is always popular at the campfire.
