At least John has the good sense to tell Elly not to move him, since you don’t move people with potential spine injuries. Unfortunately for John, he does not have the good sense to stay still and he is paying a terrible price for it.

How and why is he laying on his back?

Nothing worse than back pain, and no way to relieve it. (And, professional men make the worst patients.)

April must be getting to be a big girl now.

I remember my father lying on the living room floor, with his knees drawn up to his chest. He said that helped his back pain

Wait, John is a doctor. Too bad he’s not a vet though. They do skin issues, teeth, broken bones, surgery, cats, dogs, birds, snakes………….

“Don’t move me“ …. It looks like he’s busy moving himself around…

Call the Doctor? What is this? 1962?

Who turned him over. I thought he hurt too much to move.

Looks like the “pair-of-medics” are doing their very best to look after him. Just because I don’t know what to do, doesn’t mean I’m not doing the best I can.

Aww. They try : ) At least April is trying to give something of her self to the situation, Farley is being the good Farley pup that he is.

What can the Dr. do over the phone? (if you even get to hear his voice on the other end of the phone) Waste of time. If it is as bad as he’s making it out to be, call an ambulance.

Chiropractor or Osteopathic Doctors are the only ones one should let take care of a popped back. Regular Dr’s want to us muscle relaxers and/or surgeries.

The era before everyone (including the baby), had tablets, and cellphones, and there was no alexa to call an ambulance.

I’ve never had sudden pain from the bad things I’ve done to my back; they caught up over the next week or so. Sudden back pain is almost always muscle spasms.

Didn’t GET FUZZY already do this bit??

At least Farley doesn’t steal John’s wallet.

At one point I was in a similar situation and our dog came, licked my face a few times and then tucked in next to me with her head on my shoulder until my wife was able to get me some meds.

Sciatica is no picnic. Been there.

Who remembers the old Bengay print add with the little green devil sticking his pitchfork into a man’s back? The drawn waves of pain and stars reminded me of the looks of that add. I was a kid and very scared of that add that was always shown on the Sunday comics page of the newspaper!

What’s a doctor gonna do?

I don’t think Farley or April are helping…
