For most the country is a far distant land, miles from where they live, reached through crazy traffic, that takes a long time to reach for only a few minutes enjoyment. Effort doesn’t balance with result.
Just took a trip (all of I81 through Virginia). Along the way there was a huge field of pumpkins that had not been harvested yet. Pumpkins as far as you could see. Don’t know if they intended it as a pick your own or just had not harvested. Maybe Linus will use it as his pumpkin patch this year.
Yep, grocery store pumpkin, $5, Field pumpkin, pick your own……..admission up to $20. Pumpkin $5 each, “hayride” to and back from the field $2, corn maze another $5. three hours later, 4 small pumpkins, cold, wet, dirty and broke. Kids experience….priceless
Trips to the Pumpkin Patch were always fun. However, sometimes life gets in the way. Thank goodness for cheap pumpkins at the grocery store. The kids were happy either way; just don’t make the store the only way.
We have quite a few pumpkin patches around our fair little town. Some have corn mazes, some have hayrides, some have cider and doughnuts, and all of them are fun. Now that the last grandkid has moved away, I’m missing the pumpkin patch.

You can pick your friends and you can pick your pumpkin but you can’t pick your friend’s pumpkin.

Does Walmart and/or Target sell pumpkins too?
