I think the dude stuck on “zero” pull ups wishes he was still back at the bar knocking back a brew with his buddy who looks like he opted out of taking the JFK test again. Hopefully the old dude does not end up in a convenient care facility for the assorted pulled muscles and sprains that usually accompany trying to replicate any physical activity you tried 40 or 50 years back.
A brief leap of beer induced imagination. To actually think you can do what you did 60 years ago, is silly. After a few beers however it becomes truly stupid. To actually try it, first call 911 as medical help will be needed
A fitness columnist wrote once that doing pushups past age 50 is a great way to destroy your shoulders. Since 50 is a dot in my rearview mirror, I’ve successfully avoided them. Pull-ups were always theoretical for me.

I was NEVER able to do pullups, even when I was in high school!

One thing to consider. Back then, you were probably close to a hundred pounds lighter.

At a certain point, they have to put a bar above your bed so you can pull yourself upright. That’s when those pull-up numbers start climbing again. :)
