The original Fly was on TV last week. I had forgotten it took place in Montreal. And that Herbert Marshall was in it. You would not know it, but Mr Marshall was wounded during WWI and had one of his legs amputated up to the hip. He learned to walk again with the help of not just a physical therapist, and there weren’t too many of them in the 1920s, but a ballet instructor as well. You could not tell that he used a prosthetic leg unless you were really looking for it. And that Mr Hedison switched back and forth between using David and Al and that there was a small industry changing his name on movie credits. His daughter has been married to Jodie Foster since 2014. Al/David passed away in 2019 at the age of 92.
