Wow! She admitted he was right. I wonder what that’s like.

The gift reflects the thought. Be careful of what you buy.

My wife told me I was right once. 22 years married and I’ve been right once! And I don’t even remember what I was right about.

Alternatively – make a gift donation to a local charity in the persons name. Food banks, homeless shelters, humane/rescue groups….

Looking to replace our wall oven. Delivery dates run from December to March, depending on the model.

Gift-giving hasn’t been purely about the thought since before I can remember. It would be good if these logistics issues help us reset how we think about gifts.

Sometimes the online are cheaper than the in-store prices.

While there’s nothing inherently wrong about shopping locally, there is the availability aspect (and not just for gifts).

Would I rather drive from store to store to store for, say, a particular spatula that I prefer or shop online, find it, and buy it? I know the answer for me.

I don’t care for the statement “it’s the thought that counts”. Most people now a days don’t think about what a person wants. They just grab something off a shelf and wrap it. I try to find something that the person will like (I listen to know what they are interested in). It is obvious by some of the gifts I get, that the person doesn’t know what interests me. I’m talking about family members.
