Not an issue i am familiar with. A shrink I was seeing decades ago after I got out of the military taught me a common relaxation method that still works today.
Tis what happens when the bed is too comfortable. Some folk sleep better on/in and uncomfortable position. Mind they wake up in pain so it’s a trade-off.
The right panel was my mom, so she routinely took sleeping pills. Now she has dementia. I’m not saying they are related, but I will never take sleeping pills.
It is worse when the love of your life, your soulmate of 34 years dies suddenly and leaves you all alone, sleep is fitful and fleeting. It doesn’t matter where you are.

In my mind, I hear my mom saying to my dad “Honey, it’s time to get up (from the couch where he’d fallen asleep) and go to bed.”

Doesn’t make any sense but it happens.

You’re just out of sync with your circadian rhythm.

It seems so easy to fall asleep when you don’t want to or when you need to stay awake.
… and when you really need to or try to fall asleep you can’t.
