Shoes – 100 grams, phone – 250 grams, keys – well, considering he’s the collector type I’d guess some kilo. Tell him you’re waiting for his heavy glasses, still. And next time he should go to the barbers beforehand.
Today’s cartoon goes out to Kevin, who was taking off his shoes, and when asked “Why?” he said that his clothes weighed a lot. The nurse said, “How much, do you think?” He said “Five pounds.” She said “Sir, I’ll GIVE you the five pounds- just get on the scale!”
It’s almost like she had a lot of duties to perform, and knew that five pounds on way or the other doesn’t matter to people who only weigh you twice a year.
In my case my balance is so bad that they can’t get an acurate reading on my weight from the scale but the doctor still worries about my weight. I still take of my fanny pack with all my things when they try to check anyway.
He is obviously obese and obviously going to stay that way, so why bother? It is not like the nurse is going to pat him on the head and tell him he is a good boy for losing 5 pounds since his last visit. ( I am 70) Medicare will only pay for a “Wellness Exam” in which the doctor is not permitted to do any physical exam -not even listen to your heart/look into your ears-just an interview to see if you are capable of living by yourself, dementia. My doctor explained this policy was established at the begining of Medicare when life expectancy was 70 so a physical exam was considered a waste of time/money.
A nurse once weighed me while I was wearing my winter parka. My pockets were full of stuff, including a folding shovel. The doctor thought I had gained 15 lbs!

I must admit, I also take off my shoes and remove my keys and phone also in the doctor’s office, at home I weight myself naked.

I weigh myself daily on a digital scale
I try to do it about the same time every day, dressed in light clothes
Been on vacation this week with a little gain every day, it will start going down again after I go back to work tonight

I have all kinds of things in my pockets. When I go to the doctor’s, I remove as much as possible out of my pockets in the car.

It’s odd that they never check your height. I doubt I’m still 5’10" like I was 50 years ago.

Body shaming at the doctor’s office. I just say no. They call it refusal of service.

The scale at my doctor’s office has walker-style handles on either side. Using them, I can get my weight down to 80 pounds

If you don’t eat any salt for 2 days you will loose 3 pounds

I take everything but my truck keys and my wallet out of my pockets before going in to the doctor’s office. I’m with you Frank.

Our Doc’s crew subtracts around 6lb after weighing due to clothes and shoes. Love it!

Why I wear clogs to the doctor’s. You can kick’em off real fast and not hold things up.
