They appear to be singing something in the final panel. I would guess it is “Happy Birthday to You”, but maybe they had to pull the lyrics because they did not want to pay the rights to use the song.
I would like to say “Merry Christmas” with a song based on a poem I wrote when my daughter was a newborn that I put to music years later. When I did finally put it to music, it was too short, just one verse, so I decided to write a second verse. The title “A Baby Rules the World,” made me think of the Baby Jesus so I decided to write the second verse with that in mind, lyrics that would apply to the Mother of Jesus and any mother anywhere on Earth, and added the subtitle “Mary’s Lullaby.” I’ll make a funny face or twoTo induce a smile or cooA Baby’s smile rules the worldA Baby rules the worldBut if instead I find a frownIt turns my world upside-downA Baby’s tears rules the worldA Baby rules the worldOf all the world’s works of artAnd all that genius can impartThe beauty just describes in partThe day You entered in my heartA Baby’s love rules the worldA Baby rules my world
I will watch You as You growThen someday the world will knowA Baby’s life rules the worldA Baby rules the worldAnd love will spread throughout the EarthA love that started with Your BirthA Baby’s heart rules the worldA Baby rules the worldAnd my life will live on through YouBecause I know You love me tooAnd after Your last breath is drawnThe love You’ve given will live onA Baby’s love rules the worldA Baby rules my world

Merry Christmas and thank you for giving Glory to GOD!!!
Luke 2:
8 Now there were shepherds in that region living in the fields and keeping the night watch over their flock.9The angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were struck with great fear.d10The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid; for behold, I proclaim to you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.11
e For today in the city of David a savior has been born for you who is Messiah and Lord.12And this will be a sign for you: you will find an infant wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger.”13And suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:14“Glory to God in the highest and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

But it is someone’s birthday, Elizabeth! Christmas —which I wish a merry one— is about the birth of Christ.

I don’t believe my family ever had a Christmas cake tradition, aside from fruit cake. Is a Christmas cake a common thing?
